_threadlock.pyd

_threadlock.pyd is a module process file that works with the Python programming language.  It is used by Zope programs and possibly by other programs as well.

Zope is an application server, which is a software used for building content management systems, portals, and engineering other applications.  The software and its files (such as _threadlock.pyd) are not inherently harmful.

However, the file could be harmful if it has been corrupted or damaged by a virus.  It could also simply be outdated or pointing towards the wrong process of a piece of hardware.

Damaged, out-of-date, and “mis-targeted” process files can slow down the Windows registry.  This usually has the effect of slowing the entire computer–sometimes even crashing it!

The best way to prevent registry clutter is to run a regular registry scan and clean-up.  If you would like to make sure your registry is running as smoothly as possible, feel free to take advantage of ZookaWare PC Cleaner’s free scan.
