_winproc.dll is a file with the direct link library (.dll) designation.  This file is used with Cyberlink’s multimedia software.  Cyberlink comes installed on many new Dell computers and is used for a variety of audio and video tasks.

There is nothing inherently wrong with _winproc.dll .  In fact, Cyberlink needs the file in order to function properly.

But if you are seeing a Windows error that refers to _winproc.dll, you may have a damaged file or, even worse, a damaged registry.  The Windows registry is where operational files are routed, so that they are kept in one place instead of spread throughout various directories on the computer.
