_winproc.dll Information

_winproc.dll is a file with the direct link library (.dll) designation.  This file is used with Cyberlink’s multimedia software.  Cyberlink comes installed on many new Dell computers and is used for a variety of audio and video tasks.

There is nothing inherently wrong with _winproc.dll .  In fact, Cyberlink needs the file in order to function properly.

But if you are seeing a Windows error that refers to _winproc.dll, you may have a damaged file or, even worse, a damaged registry.  The Windows registry is where operational files are routed, so that they are kept in one place instead of spread throughout various directories on the computer.

The Windows registry helps a PC or a laptop run much faster than it would otherwise.  Due to no error on the user’s part, however, the files in the registry sometimes “point in the wrong direction,” become outdated, or get damaged by malicious software.  These kind of errors can slow down and sometimes even crash a computer.

A regular registry check should ensure a computer runs smoothly with no directory problems.    You can try a free scan with ZookaWare PC Cleaner to see what your registry looks like.
