DomainHelper Spyware Profile

DomainHelper is a Trojan Downloader disguised as a browser add on for Internet Explorer.  Most likely, you got this infection as part of a bundle of freeware.  No vendor has been identified at this time.

DomainHelper has spyware capabilities.  It monitors your browsing habits and uploads them to a remote server.  This data is then processed, and targeted advertising is sent to your computer.  The ads that DomainHelper delivers are in the form of pop-up or pop-under advertisements.

As a Trojan Downloader, DomainHelper has the ability to download files from the Internet.  This could be merely for the pop-ups, but it can also download other malicious files to further infect your computer.

Because of the activity of DomainHelper, your computer may run slower and your browser may crash.  DomainHelper is set to run when Internet Explorer is started and when Windows starts up.  These are ways that DomainHelper can reinfect your computer if it is improperly removed.

DomainHelper is not a useful program.  It can only cause harm to your computer and your privacy.  It is highly recommended that you remove it using Spyzooka.  Manual removal is not recommended, since manual removal can potentially harm your computer.
