InSysSecure

InSysSecure is a European based rogue security program that targets users in German, Italian and French speaking countries.  Infection with InSysSecure can come from downloading questionable programs via shareware or freeware sites or by installing video codecs on online movie viewing sites.

Once it has installed itself, you will become bombarded with alerts, warning messages and phony scan results all informing you of dangerous “infections” or “infected files.”  They are all false messages and should not be heeded under any circumstances.

InSysSecure is a replica from the WiniSoft family and is similar to other fake anti-spyware programs such as PCProtectar, GuardPcs and APcDefender.  InSysSecure will configure itself to run each time you run Windows and will embed phony “infected” files that will later come up in your system scans.  This program is quite authentic seeming because a fake Windows Security Center will be displayed in addition to alerts from a phony Windows task bar.  Do not be fooled, however, as you are infected with spyware.  Here is a sample warning in English:

Manual Removal Instructions:

Manual removal is usually not attempted by casual or average computer users.  Because the process requires a secure and thorough knowledge of this type of software programming, making an error could be quite costly to you.  If you are knowledgeable then move ahead with the following:

Be sure to remove these files and folders:
c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop\InSysSecure.lnk
c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\InSysSecure
c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\InSysSecure\1 InSysSecure.lnk
c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\InSysSecure\2 Homepage.lnk
c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\InSysSecure\3 Uninstall.lnk
%Temp%\.exe
c:\Program Files\InSysSecure Software
c:\Program Files\InSysSecure Software\InSysSecure
c:\Program Files\InSysSecure Software\InSysSecure\InSysSecure.exe

c:\WINDOWS\system32\295859pz6ec.bin
c:\WINDOWS\system32\2959spzrse1354.cpl
c:\WINDOWS\system32\.exe
Delete the following process thoroughly:

<random>, like 29495zy1d5
InSysSecure.exe

Followed by deleting these registry values:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\InSysSecure
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\InSysSecure
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\InSysSecure
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\[random].exe
It should be noted that manual removal does not guarantee that the application at hand is fully removed.  If there are any files left, it will recreate itself.  For thorough protection, you may want to obtain a safe and secure anti-spyware application.  ZookaWare has created spyware-proof, SpyZooka.  SpyZooka is an enemy to all spyware because its proprietary process ensures the removal of all spyware or your money back.

I was getting some alert…”Your computer is infected with spyware. It could damage your critical files or expose your private data on the Internet. Click here to register your copy of InSysSecure and remove spyware threats from your PC.” I never installed something like that, so I had no trust in it. The first thing it came in my mind was to search for answers in SpyZooka’s directory. I found here the information I needed and I removed InSysSecure right away.
