Scam.MySpaceBar Adware Profile
Scam.MySpaceBar is an adware program that was first discovered on July 13 of 2006. It is disguised as a toolbar add-on for Internet Explorer. It is most often installed on your computer by being bundled with other spyware or adware.
The vendors for this adware program are www.dollarrevenue.com and www.regifast.com. These are known purveyors of adware and spyware. According to these websites, this program is in no way affiliated with MySpace. There is no End User Licensing Agreement visible during installation, or anywhere else, for that matter.
Its supposed purpose is to allow the user to search Google and Yahoo’s search engines from the MySpaceBar toolbar while on any website. This is a redundant feature, since Google has an existing toolbar on Internet Explorer and Firefox.
In reality, Scam.MySpaceBar is an advertising engine for the affiliates of the host websites. Since it offers no real benefit to the user, it only provides an annoyance to you. It should be removed from your computer using SpyZooka.
