Slaying the Keenval.B “BHO.ah” Dragon

When you turn your computer on, is your desktop flooded with pornographic and gambling pop-ups that seem to be getting by your latest pop-up blocker? If so, your computer may be infected with Keenval.B, aka Adware.Voghp, Adware.Webprefix, not-a-virus; adware.Win32.BHO.aa, Adware-KeenValue, Troj/BHODLL-K, BrowserModifier: Win32/KeenValuePerfectNav, Trojan.BHO.WebPrefix.   Finding the problem is the easy part, slaying the Keenval.B “BHO.ah” dragon is a different story, or is it?

This is an adware program that displays pop-up advertisements when users are browsing the internet, bringing up naughty material such as porn and gambling sites.  While you’re sitting there scratching your head, trying to figure out which family members has been on these sites, you wonder to yourself, could my computer be infected?

If you need some more convincing, here are some other signs that your computer has been infected:

o Altered wallpaper and desktop settings
o Abnormal system tray icons and desktop shortcuts
o System files suddenly being removed along with registry keys
o dlls files causing the “Blue Screen of Death” error

If your browser is launching by itself, then it is probably being redirected to corrupt webpages while it spreads via spam e-mail, chat programs, porn websites, and infects your PC through Window security holes.  You think the battle is over and you don’t have a fighting chance when it disables your firewall, anti-virus, and other security tools and redirects then to other servers or do you?

Once your computer starts slowing down because it is blocking the info transfer rate, you know you’re hit.

It can be frustrating trying to remove something that re-creates itself upon start-up, and even more frustrating when naughty things keep popping up and you don’t know where they’re coming from.  You can sit there scratching your head, or you can solve the problem and slay the Keenval.B dragon.
