Spyware Profile’s Toolbar is a spyware program disguised as a toolbar add-on for your browser.  It was first discovered on February 1 of 2004.  It is powered by the web server,

The Toolbar is installed on your computer either manually or as part of an ad-supported freeware bundle.  Its main ad delivery tactic is through pop-ups.  It also directs your search queries in its search bar to its affiliate websites.

It also has spyware data mining capabilities.  That is, it can search through your browsing history and monitor your browsing so it can collect data to send to its server to make its advertising more user-specific.  It does this by keystroke logging and collecting information of the websites you visit.

The activity of the Toolbar can seriously slow down your computer’s performance.  It can also potentially cause your Internet browser to crash.  It also presents a potential privacy risk.  Any supposed benefits it promises–in this case, browsing “convenience” which is already redundant–are not worth compromising your computer and your privacy.

If you are infected with the Toolbar, you should remove it immediately with ZookaWare PC Cleaner.
