FindTheWebsiteYouNeed Spyware Profile

FindTheWebsiteYouNeed is a spyware program that was first discovered on January 1 of 2004.  It is a Browser Hijacker program presumably created by eXact Advertising.  It also seems to be affiliated with DotComToolbar.  In all likelihood, you may have caught it by a drive-by download on one of their affiliate sites.

When FindTheWebsiteYouNeed is installed on your computer, it creates a toolbar on your Internet Explorer browser, adds websites to your Favorites list and resets your homepage to Findable, also known as  It then monitors your browsing habits, looking for certain keywords on the web pages you visit.  It then can redirect your browsing or send you pop-up ads based on the keywords.

It is universally accepted that the search engine on FindTheWebsiteYouNeed’s home page is virtually useless.  While it still exists, traffic to this site has dropped enormously over the past few months.

The benefit-to-annoyance trade off for having FindTheWebsiteYouNeed makes it not worth having.  It is for the best that you remove this program from your computer once you realize that you’re infected.  Because of the difficulties in manual removal of spyware programs, we do not recommend removing it that way.  Instead, you should use a trusted spyware removal tool such as ZookaWare PC Cleaner to remove FindTheWebsiteYouNeed.
