I want to tell you about an unpleasant experience I had with BargainBuddy. The program says it allows you to receive rebates from participating merchants on your purchases so I thought I would give it a try. Big mistake!

A toolbar was installed and I started getting pop-ups as I browsed the Internet. I later found out that toolbars are called browser helper objects, or BHOs, and browser helper objects are known for hijacking your home page and spying on your Internet activities.

I was displeased with the pop-ups and home page hijacking, so I tried to uninstall BargainBuddy. On computer reboot it was back. I knew that wasn’t what was supposed to happen with a normal program, so I started doing a bit of research on BargainBuddy. I found out that BargainBuddy is considered adware and has several other names. Other names BargainBuddy goes by are CashBackBuddy, Bullseye Software, eXact Searchbar, and NaviSearch. A company named Exact Advertising created it. BargainBuddy monitors your Internet usage and then displays ads based on which web sites you visit. It can contact Exact Advertising’s servers without your knowledge or consent and download updates.

I also found out to remove adware from your computer you need to get an anti-spyware program or you are stuck with the adware. I downloaded the first thing I came across, installed and ran it, then upon rebooting my computer I found that BargainBuddy was still on my computer. I did some digging and found that most anti-spyware programs only remove 80-90% of an infection many times leaving you still infected or enough left of the infection for it to reinstall itself.

That is about the time I discovered SpyZooka. Unlike other anti-spyware programs SpyZooka guarantees 100% removal. No other company even thinks about making that kind of statement. I downloaded, installed, and ran SpyZooka and then told it to remove my infection. Because I wasn’t 100% sure that SpyZooka would really remove BargainBuddy I rebooted my computer. BargainBuddy was completely removed.
