SearchFast Communicator is a spyware program that is disguised as a toolbar browser add-on.  It was first discovered on September 6 of 2005.  It is distributed by SearchFast, Inc. through their website at www.searchfast.com.  That website is currently shut down.  It has to be manually downloaded or included in a bundle program to infect your computer.

SearchFast Communicator is a spyware program in that it updates itself without informing you.  This leaves you open to further infection by other spyware programs, adware programs, and possibly viruses and worms.

SearchFast Communicator’s other behavior includes browser hijacking and ad displays.  Whenever you mistype a URL in your browser box, it will redirect you to www.searchfast.com, or whatever URL is using this program.

SearchFast Communicator is an unnecessary drain on your computer’s resources.  It serves no useful purpose to you, and it can cause your computer to slow down and have less functional stability.

You should remove SearchFast Communicator with a trusted adware/spyware removal tool such as SpyZooka.  There are other ways to remove this program, but SpyZooka is consistently able to completely remove this threat.
